Description
FEIN 7-1/4″ Metal Cutting Saw Blades
The Slugger metal saw blades are designed for fast and accurate cuts in mild & thin metal, aluminum and stainless steel. Compared to traditional abrasive-type blades, Slugger metal blades perform faster, more accurate cuts and maintain a lower temperature with less dust.
- Mild Steel (36T): Best for general purpose steel cutting; offers a balance of speed and durability.
- Aluminum (54T): Higher tooth count prevents “gumming up” and provides cleaner cuts in softer non-ferrous metals.
- Stainless (48T): Specifically designed to handle the heat and hardness of stainless steel without dulling prematurely.

Why Carbide Tips Matter for These Blades
- Heat Management: The carbide tips take the brunt of the friction, keeping the blade body and the workpiece cool to the touch immediately after cutting.
- Durability: Tungsten carbide is significantly harder than standard steel, allowing these blades to maintain their edge while cutting through dense materials like stainless steel.
- Precision: Unlike abrasive discs that shrink as you use them, these TCT blades maintain a constant diameter, ensuring consistent depth of cut throughout the life of the blade.
To maximize the life of these carbide tips, ensure you are using a dedicated metal-cutting circular saw (which runs at a lower RPM than wood saws) and avoid “forcing” the cut—let the carbide do the work.
