The 3M™ PELTOR™ ComTac™ VIII is the latest in the established PELTOR product line
of tactical headsets that provides hearing protection, environmental listening, and
connectivity to communication solutions.

• Mission Audio Profiles (MAP): The MAP function has five preset gain settings with frequency-shaping technology to improve auditory performance. The modes include Observation, Patrolling, Conversation, and Comfort. There is also an Ambient Listening Off mode for maximum sound reduction when operating in high noise and monitoring a radio.
• Soundscaping: This feature automatically increases radio and voice prompt volume and decreases radio static to promote speech intelligibility in continuous noise.
• Updated Earcup: The redesigned earcup provides more space for dual hearing protection while helping to deliver maximum attenuation.
• Ear Plug Mode: This mode boosts environmental listening, comms volume, and voice prompts to compensate for the extra attenuation when earplugs are worn with the headset.
• Noise Cancelling Speech Microphone: The microphone is mounted on the left cup but maintains ambidextrous use. It provides improved voice transmission in noise and is IP68-rated, protecting against dust and water ingress (6m for 30 minutes).
• Fail Safe Comms: This feature allows for radio transmission and reception without the headset being powered on.
• Ruggedized Cable: The downlead cable is engineered to withstand harsh environmental conditions and repeated mechanical stress.
